Dear Graeme,

I know this is probably not one for you but could you point this in the direction of whoever is dealing with the fencing of Bannerdown Common?

I attended the LAF when this came up and voiced my concern as an off-road cyclist, I did also submit detailed comments to Natural England. I am pleased that my comments were taken on board with respect to access gates etc.

However, the work is now substantially complete and I am not at all happy with the position of the fence and posts inside the stone wall, effectively on the southern edge of the woodland - it now seriously impedes upon the bridleway. The posts and fence have been positioned well inside the wall and have narrowed the bridleway considerably. They need to be moved closer to the wall.

A group of us rode the track last week for the first time and I have also been contacted by others who have done so.

It will not be long before someone clips one of the posts and is injured.

Kind regards,

Andy Stewart
