Hi Everybody,
This Sunday we'll do our biggest Sunday ride of the year. 73 miles to Clevedon and back. We did this route back in 2007 when it was run as the Grand Prix de Somerset with added 'race' graded sections. The ride this year is more of an extended Group Ride with a lunch stop on Clevedon seafront before the return leg, we'll see how competitive things get though. We'll look to cover the distance at a decent pace, waiting for the group to come back together as usual at the top of climbs but ride at 'tempo' otherwise. All being well we should be back in Bath for about 4pm-ish. If you can't make a full day of riding why not join the start of the ride and then find a suitable point to cut off and return back to Bath.
Please note: for a change the ride won't start at the Guildhall. Instead we'll meet at the Society Cafe in Kingsmead Square http://www.society-cafe.com/ They've agreed to get the coffee machine warmed up so that riders can start arriving from 9am onwards for a pre-ride caffeine hit. There are a number of options for food in Clevedon so we can decide when we get there.
Ride Details:Meet: Society Cafe, Kingsmead Square at 9am for a prompt 9-30am startRoute: http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/summer-all-dayer-2012Length: 73-74 miles (42 miles out/31 miles back)Return: 4pm-ish
Sound good?
If you fancy a leg stretcher before then Jason Bhandari is heading out with a few others tomorrow eve (Thurs) for a 48 mile loop around Chew Valley and the Mendips. Meet 6pm at Chelsea Road Cafe. They hope to be back by 9pm so expect a fast paced ride.http://connect.garmin.com/activity/177659453#.T-i0blD8b58.twitter

Lots happening to keep you riding anyway.
Any questions? Let me know.
Laurie
