[VC Walcot] Classics Ride 2012 - La Fleche Avon

Hi All,
A bit late with the ride notification this week but I've been on holiday down on the North Somerset coast and the comms down there are a bit sketchy. 
This Sunday sees no ordinary ride in the club calendar, it's the Classics Ride. Apart from last year, we've held this ride every year in April as a homage to the one-day classics taking place on the continent. We usually try to run it on Paris-Roubaix  Sunday but Easter got in the way of the that. This year's aptly titled route is La Fleche Avon. We covered it three years ago and everybody had a blast, so if it ain't broke don't fix it. I will act as route leader but other ride leaders will be present to keep us in good order through the lanes as usually this ride draws a good sized peleton. 
The route it itself is very hilly (some steep, 20%+). The lanes are generally ridable with the odd rough bit here and there. The descents are tricky too but this wouldn't be a Classic if it were easy. Thankfully the mileage count is low. As we are such a well dressed group of riders we like to go all out for the retro wear on this ride. Merino and classic jerseys are de rigeur and any eccentricity that be added along the way is positively encouraged.
