[VC Walcot] Sunday 14 March 2010 - Track & Club Ride

Hi all,

 

I spoke to John Capelin at Sports Coaching today and everything is on for
this Sunday’s track day at Newport Velodrome.

 

For those not going to Newport the club ride is still on and Mark Smith will
be at the usual meeting place opposite the Guildhall at 9:30.

 

If anyone hasn’t signed up for the track session but wants to come along
there are spaces.  Please send me an email.  If you haven’t been before
don’t be intimidated.  You won’t be alone and the sessions are well
organised by a professional coach.  You’ll be riding the top of the banked
corners before you know it!

 

The track is ours from 9:00am to 12:00 midday.

 

To maximise the time on the track please be there by 8:30am as we need to
organise ourselves, the bikes and have a little safety talk before we start.


 

Remember helmets and gloves/mitts are required.  No helmet, no gloves, no
ride!

 

Also, Look Delta cleats on your shoes or trainers with straps.

Time and Date:

Sunday 14 March 2010.  Be there by 8:30am, session finishes at 12:00 midday.

 

Bikes, Shoes, Helmet and Mitts/Gloves and the like:

The cost includes hire of a track bike (If you have your own dedicated track
bike you can use it subject to Sports Coaching inspecting and approving it
on the day).

 

You will need either Look Delta cleats for your shoes, or alternatively you
can wear trainers with clips/straps. You will not be allowed to change the
pedals on the hire bikes, so please don't ask.

 

You must wear a helmet, so bring one with you.

 

You must wear cycling mitts or gloves, so bring some with you.

 

You will spend some time off the bike, so bring a top layer etc you can
easily take on and off to keep warm and a bit of food and drink to keep you
fuelled.

 

Cost:

£30 per person (just to let you know, the cost of the track hire has gone up
but Sports Coaching are not passing that on to us so the price remains the
same as last year).
