Hi Jason,

Yep, there's still a group that meets 6.30pm every Wednesday - on the gravel 'Island' in Widcombe opposite the footbridge behind the railway station - at the end of Widcombe Parade (actually Claverton Street).

Distance / time: depends on route but normally about 30km and 3 hrs.
Hills: yep, this is Bath ;-)
Every week?: there's someone there every week, if the weather has been really sh!t we do a 'lanes' ride instead (tarmac) (still on knobblies though)
How many?: I'd say av number is about 5 or 6. Most we've had this year is I think 14 which is too many really, we used to get even more and if there's more than 15 of us we used to split into two groups..
Pub? Used to be 'sometimes' and now it's more often 'normally' - at the end normally, but sometimes en route (either the Pig and Fiddle opposite Total Fitness, or the Hob Goblin, or the George). People only normally hang around for a one.

Hi Andy,

I saw your comments from old posts
on SIngletrack/Bikeradar with regards Wednesday night MTB rides from Bath ad am after some more info please:

- what distance are the rides?
- how long do they last and approx what time are they back in Bath at?
- what terrain do the rides take in - are there lots of hills?
- do the rides occur every week?
- how many people on average turn up each week?
- is there socialising at a pub afterwards?

I have a singlespeed bike and am reasonably fit......would this be ok to ride or do I need a geared bike for the hills and to ensure the groups speed is reasonable as I don't want to hold everyone up.

Can you add me to the email list for the roaming ride also as I may join this depending on it's starting location.

Thanks for the info and look forward to meeting you on a ride.

Jason

You'll be fine on a SS - we've a few, more in the winter, and another Walker (Tavis) only rides SS at the mo.

Re the email list - if you send an email with 'Subscribe' as the title to bathmtb at mtb-oz.com you'll automatically be added ('Unsubsribe' to come off). There's a Facebook page too (which we've recently made 'public' - it was 'secret').

Hope that answers everything?

No one out tomorrow (New Years Day) but next week definitely.

Hope to see you soon,

Andy
