Ouch...the hill to King Alfred's tower is a mother; the thought of having to
do it twice is pretty depressing actually. Well done.......I saw some very
tired looking riders going through Bruton on Sunday I guess that was you
lot.

First 30 miles on my own, then finally found a good group to ride with up to
50 mile mark. They stopped for lunch so cracked on.

Next 25 was tough without the group, but after 75 I'd climbed Alfred's Tower
and was looking forward to counting down the miles, so head down and on the
drops.

Less haste more pain! At 80 miles, started to notice riders coming back the
other, maybe its the 100km groups? Unfortunately not, had missed a turning
while on the drops.

Turned round and followed them back to the bottom of the killer Alfred's
Tower climb! Took a tray of Millionaire's shortbread to take the edge off my
anger.

So, 115 miles for me, 7 hours 6 minutes.

Bring on the HONC.

Good weekend all?

Me:110 miles in about 8 hours (with stop for lunch) 15.5mph moving average.
Great route across the Cotswolds, would have been nice to see the sun at
some point but hey-ho!

Morning All

I've got a couple of things to give away if wanted.

The first is easy - 18.5 inch MTB frame aluminium, bare frame, and nothing
fancy, in red, Vbrakes only.

The second is not so easy a sofa comprising of a 2 seat sofa and arm chair
and separate foot rest. Is/was a very good quality item, I think we paid
£2500 for it 14 years ago. Perfectly usable and functioning, would be great
for kiddies/spare room (shabby sheik). We have ordered a new one and it's
too big for our kiddies play room so needs to go. I have no way to transport
it but happy to help shifting if it's wanted. I was going to pass it on to a
local charity but the fire safety label has come off the sofa so they won't
take it, the fire safety label is still present on the arm chair and foot
rest. I you want a picture let me know.
