Subject: [VC Walcot] First Aid training

Hi all,

We are looking to organise a one day First Aid course for Ride Leaders, Coaches, Volunteers, Marshals i.e. all active members who support Club activities.

The aim is to grow the number of qualified first aiders in the Club to provide better cover on club rides, at Odd Down, the Hill Climb etc.

Options with several potential providers (St John Ambulance, Reflex, Wesport and First Aid Training Bath Ltd) are being investigated. We will run the course in partnership with Bath CC and Somer Valley CC.

The course will include some cycling specific training, but will lead to those who attend and pass becoming First Aid qualified.

The venue is TBC, but will be in Bath.

The club will look to cover the cost of the course, for example we have existing funds awarded by the Quartet Bath Half Marathon Fund.

To enable us to gauge the potential uptake, please let me know if you would like to put your name forward - over the next week, before Monday 22nd April please.

We can then make specific plans, dates etc.

Many regards,
Jonathan Arnold

Jon

I know I have not been very active in the club recently because of my JOGLE training commitment but I would like to help at future events (after the ride across), so if there is space I would be interested but equally if you have other takers that need the space no worries.

Linda
