[VC Walcot] Fwd: Dragon Ride 2013 Entries Open 9am Thursday

Sorry for the blanket email to everyone but I am sure a few may just be
interested in doing the Dragon Ride Next year. Entries open on Thursday
this week, it sold out in 2 and a half hours last year but this year is via
ballot so not so much of a 9am rush to enter.

It was a fantastic event, it the same course this year as last and I can
testify that it was challenging, but not too challenging and quite simply
sublime country to ride a bike around. I typed out my thoughts on the event

I am very much wanting to do the event next year. It would be good to have
a few other Walcoters there, if the luck of the draw is kind, and form our
own peloton, leaving the majority of the field in our wake.

         *Entries for the Wiggle Dragon Ride 2013 will open at 9am on
Thursday 1st November *
       The UKâ€™s most prestigious Sportive, the Wiggle Dragon Ride, will
return for its 10th year on Sunday 9th June 2013. The South Wales event
will once again start from the picturesque Margam Park, Port Talbot, having
moved there successfully in 2012.

  The 2012 Grand Fondo (206km) and Medio Fondo (125km) routes made for the
most challenging event to date and will remain the same in 2013; allowing
returning participants the chance to compare their year on year times. The
iconic Grand Fondo will take in approximately 3350m of climbing, passing
through the beautiful Brecon Beacons and the Medio Fondo riders will climb
approximately 1875m.

  A new addition is the introduction of a WomenOnly Cycletta

replace the previous Corto distance. Cycletta is the UKâ€™s leading series
of women only bike rides, supported by Olympic Gold Medallist Victoria
Pendleton. This will be the first time the series will visit Wales.

make the entry process as fair as possible for everyone, therefore the
general entry this year will be in the form of a ballot.
