[VC Walcot] VC Walcot 5th Anniversary Ride: Sat 1st Oct

Howdy All,

Hot(-ish) on the coat tails of Ian's post on Facebook relating to the Open
Hill climb I'd like you to, if possible, put this little event in your
diaries.

On 1st Nov 2006 (or near as dammit) Pete set up the club. The first club run
headed out sometime in that month. The exact dates and route are a bit foggy
but Pete assures me they went up Kingsdown and out through Monkton Farleigh
and on towards Bradford on Avon.

*So 1st Oct*, in honour of the first club run, we're going to do the same
and then beyond to take in some club related highlights such as the TT
courses at Great Chalfield and Westwells Road plus (if I can shoe horn it in
and weather permits!) a trip up St Catherine's where we held our first club
hill climb event. Route distance should be no more than 50km and will be at
a leisurely pace. The idea is to get as many people out for a good ride and
a natter. If we find a nice place/pub to stop on the way we will. Freeriding
in a road stylee!

We haven't really done a big, fun club event in a while so hopefully
together with the Open Hill Climb we can have an enjoyable VC Walcot
weekend.
