Well, I'm in, if I can get a lift that would be much appreciated.

Be great to ride somewhere new, trails look great and amazing place to stay.

Cheers for the RR Kevin.

So, Steve’s suggested a date – 10/11/12th May and there happens to be rooms available then currently (and not many other weekends). Based on 4 or more of us sharing a room, the cost would be around £13 per person per night plus evening meal which was also incredible value. (or there’s a pub within riding distance).

I’d be happy to drive if we share fuel cost.

Plan would be head off from Bath Friday afternoon, aim to get there by about 7pm. Ride Sat. Stay Sat night, head back Sun morning.

Or we could just stay one night if people could only get a ‘ticket’ for half the weekend.

Here’s the link to the trails map and pictues: like I said plenty of single-track, like the Quantocks only the trails are waymarked, some are more rocky and there’s waterfalls..

Who’s up for it??? We probably need a minimum 4 to make it worthwhile

Let me know and if there are enough of us I’ll book.

Andy

Morning

Well given the cold last night it was a surprise to see 5 people ready to ride, Paul, Tav, Rich, Justin and Kevin. Classic start to a Wednesday ride when only just up to the top of Perrymead we managed to split the group with Rich and Kevin going one way and Tav, Paul and Justin another. We regrouped in Monkton Coomb, did not go too far. Back in Bath for 8.30 and went to the pig for a drink, proper cold after sitting outside under the heater we headed indoors for a warmer beer.

Will think about Sat morning road rides but probably not up to your pace yet ;-) But just in case: what time and where? Or more to the point what time and where for coffee/cake/planning meet-up afterwards!?

Re Date for Long Mynd Weekend, possibly mid May? (Between the Bank Hols?).

‘Charity’ Epic might not be ‘til 2014!

Have a good ride those who do manage to get out

Andy

Me sadly a no-show. Someone coming round to take my Will! I kid-you not. A bit overdue!

Still lots of hassles at work. Have more hurdles to get over in the next two months to try to keep my job. Long story but I hadn't appreciated the impact (excuse the pun) of my head injury until recently. Been seeing psychologists and psychiatrists at St Martins Hospital in Bath. They talk about the process being 'Awareness, Acceptance and Adjusting / Adapting'.

(Headway have been a great help. It would be nice to do a fund-raising ride for them some time).

Whilst I'm on...

We spent a great last weekend in Shropshire, walking on the Long Mynd - lots of bikers about, some fantastic singletrack trails, like the Quantocks only trails are waymarked, some more rocky and with waterfalls!

We stayed in a National Trust Manor House that was used as a Youth Hostel. Grade 1 Listed but recently renovated so all 'mod-cons', we had rooms at the top of an amazing windy-staircase. Dinner in the 'grand hall' and evening in front of the fire on leather sofas. All for an astounding £13.00 per person per night!!

Dead easy to get there, about 2 hours up the M5. Leave late Friday afternoon to get there Friday evening, ride all-day Saturday, head back Sunday morning aiming to get back lunch-time??

So who's up for it???

Andy

*I owe Dave an email about Sat rides too.
