Saw the Ralph Allen thing on that Twitter - isn't there a Bath Uni hill climb soon, updated my phone and it wiped the calendar of dates!
Think its CX in Bristol this weekend too.

Tony, hope you're ok - car came off worse right?

See you wednesday.

Steve

Hope your all-right Tony, the overshoes are about £20 and with a pair of sealskin waterproof socks you'll never have wet or cold feet.

Chris, what'd ya seal them with?

How much are the overshoes ye're all recommending?
Anyone recommend some good leg warmers?

Should be out again soon. Got hit by a car last week on cheddar gorge!

Marvelous composition and an excellent, if cold, ride.

I also purchased a pair of endura overshoes and some woolie boolie socks today. I even re-sealed the cleat holes in the bottom of my shoes!

Bravo!

Cold night, warm toes - recommend the Enduro Mtb overshoes.

Back home in time for lasagne and Independence Day - top night all round!

Remarkable....the poem and the bunker. I heard whispers of this last night but my toes were too cold to care about where the queen would hang out in a nuclear event.

Subject: Ride Report Wds 19 Oct

This weeks Ride Report delivered mostly in the form of a poem:

The forecast was for rain and cold
The number brave depleted
Chris, Aileen, Steve and Andy
the only ones not defeated

They headed out from the town
Box Woods the destination
Along the canal, across the Meadows
Up through Bathford to Kingsdown

>From there off-road
The trails soft and leafy
The grass wet and slippy
The knobbly tyres grippy

Before Box Woods Fig Rolls
>From the Co-Op “They’re the best”
Into the woods, lights in the trees
UFOs, The Others or the Woodland Trolls?

A group from Melksham
It turned out to be
How many of them?
Just the three

“Where are we?” Chris says
Another history lesson follows
Above the Secret Underground City*
Below the sleepy hollow

Rudloe descent
fast and flowing
Climb to Colerne
Just keeps on going

Along the top
The cold beginning to bite
Only Steve in his booties
had warm toes tonight

Bannerdown
they barrelled down
Through the trees
The carpet of leafs

The London Road
Back into town
Too cold to stop for a pint
Their separate ways they go
into the night

In keeping with past this weeks – a link to the history lesson homework:

Chris asked if it’s possible to get access – not any more apparently, concern now over asbestos contamination.

Finally, Aileen asked where’bouts for Oktoberfest results:

Hopefully a few more fit next week? Or are they all ‘tucked up for the winter’ now?

O/O
Andy
